List of Questions and Some Scriptures

List Compiled by Paolo S. Macachor

1. Did you know that brimstone (ancient name for sulphur) was also used to purify and had the power to ward off disease?

It appears in seven verses in the New Testament from the Greek word "theion," (Strong's number 2303) which has the definitions:
1) brimstone
1a) divine incense, because it was regarded as having power to purify, and to ward off disease
2. Did you know that the word "torment" in the Book of Revelation primarily meant to test metals?

Cognate: 931 básanos – originally, a black, silicon-based stone used as "a touchstone" to test the purity of precious metals (like silver and gold). See 928 (basanízō).

3. Did you also know that "forever and ever" was mistranslated, because the word Aionios Ton Aionion literally means "the ages of the ages"... because the word for "and" is "Kai" and "ton" should always mean, of the ?  Have you considered that this refers to an era, and not a duration?

4. Did you know that "everlasting punishment" in Matthew 25: 46 literally means chastening eonian (Concordant Literal Translation)... and that the Greek adjective Aionios can NOT take on a form greater than the noun it modifies? In other words, Life eonian/life eternal (Zoen Aionion) ... and Chastening eonian/Everlasting Punishment do not necessarily have to have the same duration?

And the word Kolasis, which is what the Lord Jesus used in this verse means corrective punishment, because KOLAZO in Greek originally meant the pruning of trees to make them better?

Aion does not always have to be eternal because it modifies God. Aion doesn't make God eternal, but God makes Aion eternal. (Gerry Beauchemin, HOPE BEYOND HELL).

5.  We know that God has kindled fires that shall "not be quenched" in the past (See Jeremiah 7: 20, KJV) ... As yourself the question: Are those fires still burning?

If you have carefully considered these things... I want you to take a look at the following Scriptures,that I have compiled, in no particular order from the Bible... different versions of it which can be viewed at

 27 All the ends of the earth
   will remember and turn to the LORD,
and all the families of the nations
   will bow down before him,
28 for dominion belongs to the LORD

 29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;
   all who go down to the dust will kneel before him—
   those who cannot keep themselves alive.

   a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—

7 On this mountain he will destroy
   the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
 8 he will swallow up death forever.

he will remove his people’s disgrace
   from all the earth.

   a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
   by me every tongue will swear.
24 They will say of me, ‘In the LORD alone
   are deliverance and strength.’”

All who have raged against him

weeping may stay for the night,
   but rejoicing comes in the morning.

3 He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness,

Zechariah 13:9 (New International Version, ©2010)

9 This third I will put into the fire;
   I will refine them like silver

   and I will answer them;
I will say, ‘They are my people,’
   and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”

       33 For He does not afflict willingly,
      Nor grieve the children of men.

2 Samuel 14:14 (New International Version, ©2010)

14 Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But that is not what God desires; rather, he devises ways so that a banished person does not remain banished from him.

....

34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.
35 Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’

Romans 8:19-21 (New King James Version)

19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

       27 For this is My covenant with them,
      When I take away their sins.”[b]

28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

Romans 5:18-19 (Young's Literal Translation)

 18So, then, as through one offence to all men [it is] to condemnation, so also through one declaration of `Righteous' [it is] to all men to justification of life;
 19for as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were constituted sinners: so also through the obedience of the one, shall the many be constituted righteous.

1 Corinthians 15:22-28 (Young's Literal Translation)

 22for even as in Adam all die, so also in the Christ all shall be made alive,
 23and each in his proper order, a first-fruit Christ, afterwards those who are the Christ's, in his presence,
 24then -- the end, when he may deliver up the reign to God, even the Father, when he may have made useless all rule, and all authority and power --
 25for it behoveth him to reign till he may have put all the enemies under his feet --
 26the last enemy is done away -- death;
 27for all things He did put under his feet, and, when one may say that all things have been subjected, [it is] evident that He is excepted who did subject the all things to him,
 28and when the all things may be subjected to him, then the Son also himself shall be subject to Him, who did subject to him the all things, that God may be the all in all.
